Zablocki earns top college honours as freshman season continues in Massachusetts
Prince Albert’s Stryker Zablocki is continuing to make waves, this time at the college level in the United States.
The 19-year-old is currently in her freshman year at Northeastern University in Boston and just finished her first regular season with the Huskies. Earlier this week, she was honoured by the Hockey East Association, the conference the Huskies compete in, as the Hockey East Scoring Champion and was also named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team.
Within the Hockey East conference, she led all skaters with 34 points (17G-17A) in just 24 games, finishing one point ahead of fellow freshman from Boston College, Ava Thomas. Zablocki is the first freshman to win the award since Daryl Watts did it for Boston College in 2018, and the first player from Northeastern to win since Alina Mueller in 2023.
Overall, outside of conference play, the Carlton graduate ended the regular season with 42 points (18G-24A) in 34 games, placing her 11th in scoring across the entirety of NCAA Div. I women’s hockey. Her best game of the season came on Jan. 9 when she potted a career-high four points (3G-1A) in a 5-2 win over Providence College.
