Prince Albert RCMP on the lookout for escaped inmate from Sask. Penitentiary

Keiston Custer has escaped from Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert.

The Correctional Service of Canada reported the escape on its Facebook page and said more information was to come from Prince Albert RCMP.

Custer, originally from Sturgeon lake First Nation, received a 12-year prison sentence for manslaughter in January of 2023.

He was charged in connection to the death of Norman Charles Custer who was shot in the back in May 2021 in the 900 block of 17th St. W.
