The Prince Albert Police Service is confirming four people, two men and two women, are now facing charges in relation to a shooting and motor vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon.

They’re all scheduled to make their first court appearances this morning at provincial court and face a number of different charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, possession of a firearm, and obstructing police.

On the day of the incident, around 4:10 p.m., police were initially dispatched to a weapons call in the 1400 block of 1st St. E.

Initial information stated the complainant heard multiple gunshots before seeing a red truck driving at a high rate of speed on 15th Ave. E. Shortly after, a responding patrol officer observed a truck matching the description turning onto 15th Ave. E. from McIntosh Drive.

The truck continued southbound at a high rate of speed. Due to traffic in the area, the officer was not in a position to initiate a traffic stop, and no pursuit was undertaken in order to protect public safety.

Moments later, the truck collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 15th Ave. E. and 28th St. E.

Four individuals exited the truck and fled the scene on foot. The two occupants of the other vehicle involved in the motor vehicle collision were treated by Parkland Ambulance Paramedics and transported to hospital, with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

All four occupants of the truck were later located by members of patrol and Proactive Policing Unit (PPU) and arrested shortly after.

A member of the Canine Unit attended the scen,e and a successful K9 track resulted in police locating a firearm and ammunition.

Through their investigation, officers located the scene of the shooting in the 1400 block of 1st St. E. and found two vehicles that appeared to have damage consistent with a bullet hole. The investigation also determined the red truck had been stolen.
