Carlton boys and girls headed to HOOPLA

The road to HOOPLA has been paved and both the Carlton boys’ and girls’ teams have secured their spots.

The 5A boys’ regional tournament was held this past weekend in North Battleford, and Carlton finished first.

After dunking Lloydminster 80-41, Carlton had a much more competitive game against Yorkton but would prevail 98-83.

In the final, Carlton faced Swift Current and won 100-51.

The St. Mary boys lost in their opening game against Yorkton.

The 5A girls tournament was held in Swift Current and Carlton finished second.

After beating Moose Jaw 68-32 and edging North Battleford Comprehensive 77-63, Carlton faced the host team in the final and lost 84-38.

St. Mary was beat out by NB Comp.

HOOPLA will be held in Saskatoon and runs March 20 to 22.

Other teams from the region that qualified for provincials are the Meadow Lake boys (4A), as well as both the St Brieux boys and girls (2A).
