PA Police investigate bomb threat at midtown school

This story was updated Friday at 7:30p.m. to include new information from the Prince Albert Police Service.

Traffic restrictions have been lifted in Prince Albert’s midtown area and police are now investigating in relation to a mischief incident Friday afternoon

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police were called to a school in the 400 block of 10th Street East for a report of a bomb being in the school.

Members of Prince Albert Police Service responded to the scene where students had safely evacuated the school.

Officers conducted an initial search of the school and no explosive device was located inside or outside the school.

A comprehensive secondary search was also conducted by skilled and tactically trained officers; no explosive device was located and the school is found to be safe.

The Prince Albert Police Service has identified and located suspects in relation to this incident and are continuing to investigate.

“At this time, it is believed that there is no risk to public safety,” police said.

Earlier in the afternoon a parent who has children at the school, informed paNOW it was a bomb threat and the children had been taken to Riverside School.

Another parents said they were told that all of the children are safe and accounted for.
