Nov 13, 2024 | 3:46 PM

Two men are in custody following a shooting at Little Red River on November 7, said Prince Albert RCMP in a release issued Wednesday.

Ian Felix, age 42, from Sturgeon Lake First Nation and 22-year-old Cameron McKenzie from the community of Little Red River were both arrested.

Police were called to Little Red for a disturbance just before midnight on Nov. 7 and, responding immediately, found that suspects in a truck had shot at a home then fled.

No one was injured in the shooting and officers then conducted extensive patrols in Little Red River and in Sturgeon Lake, where they found the suspect vehicle.

As officers approached, the driver fled.

Officers stopped the vehicle using a spike belt but the occupants then ran on foot.

After calling in the Police Dog Service, three people were found and arrested in a nearby wooded area.

The truck had been stolen in Garrick on October 28.

Felix is charged with having property obtained by crime, failing to stop, resisting arrest and operating a conveyance while prohibited.

McKenzie was charged with having property obtained by over $5,000 and a second count of resisting arrest.

Both appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on November 12. The third person was released without charge.

The investigation into the shooting continues and police searched a home in Sturgeon Lake on November 9. While executing the warrant, they found two people wanted on warrants and one wanted for breaching court conditions.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information should contact Prince Albert RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
