Time to get spooky: Halloween events in Prince Albert area

Oct 26, 2024 | 10:03 AM

With Halloween just a week away, there are plenty of events happening in the Prince Albert area this weekend for all the ghouls and gals eager to celebrate.

On Saturday, Oct. 26 Halloween festivities get underway with a Downtown Ghost Story at 5:30 p.m. at the Historical Museum.

Then, at 5:45 p.m., the undead will rise again during the Zombie Walk down Central Avenue. Anyone with a passion for the gruesome and scary can join.

At 6 p.m. the Monster Mash gets underway in the Gateway Mall and includes a free family dance and ghost train ride. On Saturday and Sunday, kids dressed in costumes are also invited to visit participating merchants for treats, enter a scavenger hunt, and visit a Spooky Story Cave. Also, on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 from noon until 4 p.m., the Prince Albert Science Centre is hosting a creepy ‘Clowning Around’ event which will feature spooky science and crime scenes to sleuth for adults and children. Admission is $8 and group rates are available.

The 3rd annual Haven’s Halloween Howl Fundraiser is Saturday Oct. 26 at the Exhibition Centre with live music by Josh Stumpf & the Boys Downtown, door prizes, and music bingo.
Tickets are $30 at the door or $25 in advance from PA Alarms, Harold’s Family Foods & Canadian Tire. All proceeds go to the Children’s Haven.

The Halloween Haunted Corn Maze is back again at Paintball Paradise Fridays and Saturdays this month. The Family Friendly corn maze runs Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Haunted Maze and Haunted House runs from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and after that the maze gets ‘scarier and creepier’ until 11 p.m. Get more details and directions from Paintball Paradise.

Rosys Halloween Party takes place at Rosys KG Bar and Grill in Birch Hills on Saturday, Oct. 26. It gets underway at 7 p.m. and will include a costume contest, food and drink specials, karaoke and a dance with DJ. If you dare to enter the haunted hotel, there is a $5 entry fee.

Join the electric group Aiden Edwards & East Side of 2nd, with opener Cole Walker, at Rock Trout Events on Central on Saturday the 26th for the ‘Ultimate Halloween Party and Concert of 2024.’ Costumes are a must. Raise the dead and rock the night away. You can get your tickets here.

On the sweeter side of events, kids are invited for some Halloween cupcake decorating at the Lake Country Co-op grocery store in Prince Albert on Oct. 29 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $15 and space is limited.

Decorations are an annual tradition at Dennis Adams’ home at 3213 15th Avenue East in Prince Albert. (Dennis Adams/Facebook)

And, of course, Halloween wouldn’t be the same without taking a drive past 3213 15th Avenue East in Prince Albert where you’ll find Dennis Adam’s entire front yard taken over with an annual display of ghoulish figures, animatronic witches and inflatable gargoyles all with frightening sound effects. Adams has put up the display almost every year for the last two decades.
