Several Prince Albert lacrosse athletes brought home national bronze medals from Regina this past weekend.

Jaite Bexson scored a goal to time their game 2-2 with 5:47 left to play. Carson Krasilowez sent the pass for the game winning goal with 2:18 left on the clock. Bentley Broome and Bryn Beaulac both held down the defensive side of the game in the last few minutes according to head coach Javan Bexson.

“Beulac made one final take away to prevent First Nations Lacrosse Association and secure the win 3-2 for Team Sask,” Bexson said.

The U13 girls defeated Nova Scotia 6-5 while the U15 girls beat Nova Scotia 5-3. On the boy’s side, the U15 boys beat New Brunswich 7-0 to capture their bronze medals.

Softball

The Prince Albert Minor Softball season wrapped up this past weekend with the U15 Astros competing at the Canadian Boys Fastpitch Championships in Quebec. The team lost a 1-0 battle against Newfoundland to finish fourth.

“This is a great accomplishment against the best in the country. These boys represented Prince Albert and surrounding area by being respectful, hardworking, and competitive every chance they were given,” said head coach, Neil Finch in a post on the PAMSA Facebook page.

The Prince Albert Minor Softball Association also paid a special thanks to ‘The Voice of Rotary Field’ to end the season. Maury Primeau was recognized for his commitment to the Aces and Astros programs.

A post on the PAMSA social media page said, “Maury is one of the first guys to get to the diamond and always makes sure the scoreboards and sound systems are operating. I’m not sure how our tournaments would operate without him. He’s one of the few who can announce, run the scoreboard and scorekeep all at the sime time. He loves ball just as much as the players! In the off season you can find him in the rink. Thanks for everything you do Maury.”
