Police say the public will be notified if there is any public risk after arresting three suspects connected with an incident of a gun being pointed out of a vehicle while driving on Highway 11.

While RCMP arrested three people, they are still hunting a fourth, described as a man with a medium build and acne scarring on his face.

Yesterday, police reported a person driving an SUV northbound on Highway 11 around 3:45 p.m., who may have been pointing a gun at another vehicle.

Police found the SUV but the driver evaded officers multiple times before the SUV was found abandoned in a treed area south of MacDowall. One person fled on foot.

Readers reported to paNOW earlier today that up to 10 police vehicles were searching MacDowall this morning. No emergency alert was issued.

Today, on June 21 at 3:45 p.m., RCMP said there was a second incident in which a man in a vehicle pointed a firearm at another motorist, again on Highway 11, but this time near Hague.

The gun was not discharged in either incident and no injuries were reported.

RCMP officers from Prince Albert and Rosthern along with the Critical Incident Response Team, the police dog service and other units found and arrested three people but say the fourth suspect is still at large.

“The situation was – and continues to be – assessed for imminent risk to public safety. If an imminent risk is determined to exist, we will notify the public,” said RCMP in a news release.

Anyone with information about this incident, or the location of the male suspect, should call Saskatchewan RCMP immediately by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Further updates will be provided when available.
