FURTHER SANCTIONS

Teachers Federation to announce further job sanctions

Feb 29, 2024 | 10:52 AM

After a full week of job action that hit several school divisions, Saskatchewan teachers say more sanctions are on the way.

The President of the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) will announce further job action at 1:30 on Thursday afternoon.

Every day this week, Saskatchewan teachers have taken part in different sanctions including rotating strikes, withdrawal of noon-hour supervision and the cancellation of extracurricular activities.

On Thursday, there is no noon-hour supervision at schools in Swift Current, Melfort, Creighton, Lloydminster and Warman.

On Friday, the same sanctions will hit public and catholic schools in Prince Albert, the Horizon School Division in Humboldt, Holy Family Catholic School Division, the Good Spirit School Division, and all schools in Conseil des écoles fransaskoises.

There is still no word on when the Government Trustee Bargaining Committee (GTBC) and the STF will meet again at the bargaining table.
