RCMP nab attempted murder suspect in Ahtahkakoop

Two men from Ahtahkakoop are in RCMP custody after being arrested in a home in the community two days ago.

Police were looking for Dominic Ahenakew since August 8 and found him in a residence in the community after executing a search warrant at about 2:30 pm on Sunday.

RCMP say that during the search, they found six guns in the home.

Ahenakew, age 31, is charged with attempted murder, and several gun offences including having banned guns while being banned from having any gun.

Police also arrested and charged Lanny Joseph, age 32 on several outstanding warrants from incidents unrelated to the attempted homicide.
