UPDATE: On Aug. 10, RCMP said they found the white Chevrolet pick-up abandoned on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation the previous day.

Police continue to look for Dominic Ahenakew.

Ahtahkakoop RCMP are looking for a man wanted in connection with a shooting in a home in the community yesterday.

Police are looking for Dominic Ahenakew, described as 6-0 tall, weighing about 200 pounds with brown eyes and hair.

A warrant for Ahenakew’s arrest has been issued on a charge of attempted murder along with two gun-related charges.

Police are actively patrolling the community and looking for information to help them locate the suspect and learn more about what led to the shooting.

Investigators from the local detachment and the Forensic Identification Section say the incident was an isolated occurrence but Ahenakew is to be considered armed and dangerous.

People should not approach him and can report sightings by calling 911.
