Midtown gun incident back to square one after accused no shows court

Jul 17, 2023 | 5:00 PM

A woman who was allegedly caught on camera firing a gun, while walking in Prince Albert’s Midtown neighbourhood, is on the run from police.

A bench warrant for Brandy Gardiner was issued Monday afternoon, following her failure to show up for her scheduled court appearance at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

The case dates back to the early morning hours of Jan. 25, when police received reports a woman with a gun, was walking in the 500 block of Sixth Street E.

Officers responded to the area immediately and found the suspect at a nearby home.

Gardiner was subsequently charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and careless use of a firearm.

Following her second court appearance on Jan. 26, Gardiner was released on bail. As recently as May 16, her lawyer indicated a possible resolution was in sight.

However during Monday’s proceedings, the same lawyer withdrew his services, indicating he had not had contact with Gardiner for quite some time.
