Three provincial championships teeing off at P.A. golf course

Jul 17, 2023 | 6:00 AM

Once again, Prince Albert’s Cooke Municipal Golf Course will welcome some of the best golfers in the province this week.

The Senior Women’s, Senior Men’s, and Mid-Masters Championships take to the links at Cooke from Monday through Wednesday.

The Senior events were scheduled to take place at the P.A. golf course in 2020 but were postponed due to the pandemic and health restrictions.

Golf Saskatchewan said that over 120 competitors will take part in the three-day events.

“We look forward to hosting the 2023 Saskatchewan Senior Championships at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course. We hope everyone enjoys what our area has to offer,” said General Manager Darcy Myers in a release.

The Senior Women’s Championships will have 25 players while over 100 men are competing in the Senior Men’s and Mid-Masters events.

Saskatchewan will field a team in both the Canadian Senior Women’s and Senior Men’s Championships with the winner of the mid-masters getting a quota spot to the Canadian Mid-Amateur Championships.

The champions for each provincial championship will be crowned Wednesday evening.
