Community barbecue offers local job seekers some food for thought
Prince Albert’s Community Service Centre (CSC) took full advantage of the warm weather on Wednesday.
A free barbecue was held as a means to show support for the community and also to let residents know what exactly the CSC is all about. CEO Bill Powalinsky was on hand and speaking with the various residents who stopped by.
“I just want people to know we are out here, we are available,” he said.
In addition to running seniors and para-transit services, the CSC offers help to people who are looking for a job by way of showing them how to write a cover letter or even how to do an interview. Powalinsky explained they get both first-time job seekers and people who have been out of work for a while.
