HOOPLA set to wrap up as tournament heads into championship Saturday

The Carlton boys basketball team will be playing for provincial bronze.

The Crusaders had a chance to make it to the gold medal game Friday night against Saskatoon Holy Cross, but couldn’t get the job done falling 100-86. Carlton will now face Regina Riffel in the bronze medal match slated for Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

As for the girls, Carlton defeated St. Mary 64-37 to move on to the consolation finals and will face Saskatoon Holy Cross at 9 a.m. at Carlton RED. The Marauders girls, however, are now out of the tournament. The St. Mary boys are in the same boat as the girls as they lost out to the St. Joseph Guardians 100-55.

The 5A boys gold medal game is between Saskatoon Holy Cross and Saskatoon Walter Murray and happens at Carlton CPAC with tipoff at 7 p.m. The 5A girls gold medal match is between Harvest City and Regina Riffel gets started at 5 p.m., also at Carlton CPAC.
