Raiders continue homestand against rival Blades
The Prince Albert Raiders (10-17-1-1) are gearing up for the midway mark of this five-game homestand where they’ll be hosting the Saskatoon Blades (20-5-0-0) at the Art Hauser Centre.
Saskatoon enters tonight ranked as the fifth-best team in the CHL and the third-best in the WHL, after the Winnipeg ICE and Seattle Thunderbirds. They also won their last match-up in overtime against the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 back on Dec. 6.
The Raiders come into tonight having lost their contest 3-2 against the Regina Pats last night. A sluggish first period proved costly when the Pats scored twice, eventually being the deciding factor in last night’s loss.
This is the third of ten meetings between these clubs this season, where the Blades won both of the previous match-ups 5-2 on Sept. 23 and 2-1 the day after on Sept. 24.
