Pats visit Raiders for annual Teddy Bear Toss game

Dec 9, 2022 | 12:59 PM

Game two of this five-game homestand gets underway tonight when the Prince Albert Raiders (10-16-2-0) host the Regina Pats (14-12-1-1) for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game.

The Raiders are looking to get back in the win column tonight after dropping the last three games, with the most recent loss being a 4-3 defeat to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday night.

The Pats, on the other hand, wrap up a lengthy ten-game road trip against the Raiders tonight. Regina has won five out of the nine games so far, all of which came on the BC Division portion of the trip.

This is the second of six meetings between these clubs this season where the Pats blanked the Raiders in the first matchup 3-0 back on Oct. 12.

A look at the East Division standings as of Dec. 9.

Who to Watch

Newcomer Gabe Ludwig scored his first point in the Green and Gold last game against Brandon, which was enough to earn him the game’s third star. So far this season, the Eagle River, AK product has four goals and two assists in 18 games this season.

And 2004-born forward Niall Crocker extended his point streak to three games when he scored the Raiders opening goal last game. The big man has one goal and three assists over that span to push his season totals to nine points, which is a career-high.

Blueliner Easton Kovacs had an assist last game which was his first in a Raiders uniform. Tonight also marks the three-quarter mark for the Delta, BC product where he will suit up for his 75th career game. The 6’4 Kovacs was acquired from Seattle in the Nolan Allan trade where he’s posted four assists across 17 games this year.
