Tait tallies hat-trick, Mintos edge Trojans

PRINCE ALBERT, SK – Ashton Tait had himself a night to remember on Wednesday night, scoring a hat-trick to help the Mintos overcome the Tisdale Trojans 4-2 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The loss comes after falling 4-1 to the Regina Pat Canadians on Sunday afternoon.

Tait’s multi-point performance was also his first since returning to PA from the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers. The Prince Albert product now has five goals in three games with the Mintos this season.

Along with Tait, Konnor Watson also found the back of the net for the green and gold while Carson Olsen, Logan Pickford, and Logan Beebe each potted assists on the night.

Dayton Reschny scored the two goals for Tisdale while Jack Bechard, Kayd Ruedig, and Parker Dunn each collected assists.

Brady Holtvogt was between the pipes for PA where he managed 27 stops to help the Mintos improve to 9-8-0-1 on the campaign.

Lane Beal got the start for the Trojans, stopping 32 shots where Tisdale falls to 4-14-0-3 on the year.

The Mintos are back at the Hauser this weekend where they’ll welcome the Moose Jaw Winmar Warriors to PA for a two-game set. Game one is on Saturday at 7:00pm and game two will be at 1:30pm.
