A Prince Albert doctor is facing a conduct charge by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) after being accused of sexually touching a patient and making inappropriate remarks.

Dr. Nigel Painter was charged on July 12 for offenses alleged to have happened in 2021.

The CPSS said that in one circumstance, a person who had been Painter’s patient since 2011 accused him of touching her inappropriately through her clothing.

He is further accused of making inappropriate sexual comments to the patient during the appointment and also in a telephone conversation two days later.

Painter is entitled to a hearing before a disciplinary committee of the CPSS but no date has been set as yet.

According to the CPSS website, Painter is a general practitioner working at the West Hill Medical Clinic.

In 2014, Painter admitted to a charge of unprofessional conduct after engaging in a sexual relationship with a patient.

As part of the 2014 charges, Painter’s ability to practice medicine was revoked for one year and he was required to show he had received counseling on the issue.

His license was restored in November of 2015 and he is currently listed as a member in good standing.

According to coverage by paNOW in 2014, Painter was listed as the team doctor for the Prince Albert Raiders until his license was removed.

In the 2021-22 WHL official guide, Dr. N Painter is listed as the team doctor for the team.
