Kinsmen Park fills up with people enjoying annual KidzFest

Prince Albert’s Kinsmen Park was filled with people during the 27th annual KidzFest.

Families got the chance to enjoy different games, shows, and food.

The dunk tank was arguably the most sought-after activity.

Meagan Gaudet told paNOW her sons had never seen one before, so they were rather excited to get the chance to get someone wet.

“I can see them running to hit the button if they miss,” she joked.

Rachel Pelechaty, the playgrounds coordinator for KidzFest, said they had no trouble finding volunteers for the tank.

“We had people lining up to do the dunk tank, people’s little siblings were fighting over it.”

Some of the other activities included mini-golf, ring toss, face-painting, and arcade-style basketball.

Qasim Smiat challenged his oldest son Mahmoud in a game of hoops but ultimately lost with Mahmoud leaving with a prize.

“It was really fun,” Mahmoud said. “I got two robot hands.”

For Chad Krasilowez, who was enjoying the event with his three kids, it didn’t matter what event they wanted to do, he was just happy to see his family enjoying themselves.

“It’s just good for the kids to get out, have some fun, and play games.”

KidzFest officially took place on July 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
