Arrest made 13 months after man shot dead in Westview

An arrest has been made in a murder that happened in Prince Albert more than a year ago.

On Wednesday, police said they arrested a 31-year-old man from Muskoday First Nation in connection to the homicide of Drexlyr Whitehead in June of 2021.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday morning.

Whitehead was found deceased on 14 Street West near 19 Ave on June 20, 2021, following reports of gunshots in the area.
