Aces win pair of titles at Shaye Amundson Memorial Tournament

Two Prince Albert Aces’ teams kept the Shaye Amundson Memorial Tournament trophies in town, as the U15 Aces and the U11 A Aces both won their age groups and finished with the top prize.

The U15 Aces won their three games of the tournament over U18 Storm 8-1, the Moose Jaw Ice 8-0, and the Saskatoon Phantoms 7-4. The only loss of their tournament was to the Melfort Spirit on Sunday morning, falling 11-7. The Aces got their revenge on the Spirit however with a 4-0 shutout in the gold medal game.

The U11 A Aces also won their first three games. They beat the B Aces 17-5, the Parkland Predators 20-11, and Warman 12-11. They lost to Muenster 12-8, before exacting revenge in the finals with a 20-6 victory.

The U17 Aces won their first game 10-0 against the Melfort Spirit, but fell 11-6 to the Saskatoon Raiders and 10-9 to the Moose Jaw Icebreakers to end up out of the A Finals. The U13 Aces lost 15-9 to the Saskatoon Phantoms, 9-2 to the Meadow Lake Sox and 10-9 to the Regina Saints.
