Royals swept by mighty Cards
The Prince Albert Royals couldn’t find an upset against the defending Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League’s U18 AA defending champions. They fell 10-6 and 17-2 to the Unity Cardinals in a doubleheader on Saturday at Andy Zwack Field in Prince Albert.
The Royals had a 4-0 lead in the first game, but the Cardinals scored five runs in the third inning and another four in the fifth inning to pull away and take over the game.
The Royals also had an early lead in the second game, scoring both of their runs in the top of the first inning, before the Cardinals put up an 11-spot in the bottom half of the opening inning.
The Royals are now 3-8 on the season. They will take on the Saskatoon Blue Jays on Wednesday at Andy Zwack Field for their next game.
