Within two days, over $7,500 has been raised online to assist a Prince Albert family with funeral expenses.

On the afternoon of May 18, 31-year-old Allan Andres was run over in the city’s Cornerstone parking lot. According to a GoFundMe, Andres had been working as a manager at the Arby’s restaurant.

“He was declared coma status for a week, Alan fought hard to survive, but on the eighth day, May 26, he was declared brain dead and died,” a statement said.

Andres leaves behind a wife and two children, ages seven and 11.

“His family wants to bring his body back home.”

The man behind the wheel of the car, 22-year-old Rajdeepsinh Bihola, is facing a charge of second degree murder.

The case was briefly discussed Monday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court. Bihola’s lawyer indicated plans to hold a new bail hearing, which due to the nature of the charge can only be done at Court of Queen’s Bench.

The case was adjourned to June 15.

Bihola had been granted bail last week on the lesser charge of aggravated assault, but was re-arrested Friday on the upgraded charge.
