TEMPORARY BOARD

Province approves temporary six-member board for PACSD

May 18, 2022 | 8:00 AM

The Prince Albert Catholic School Division (PACSD) has been given approval to temporarily operate a six-member board.

At the weekly meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, the board was presented with an Amending Order signed by Education Minister Dustin Duncan.

In the order, Duncan officially approves the board be reduced to five members in the Prince Albert at-large subdivision. With the one rural position though, it would constitute a six-member board effective January of this year.

The temporary appointment will remain until August 31, 2024. As of September 1, 2024, the number of board members in the Prince Albert at-large subdivision will increase to six.

During the board meeting trustees also discussed an application from St. John’s Community School for a Mental Health Capacity Building. The division should know the outcome of that application by the end of May.

The board also received a letter from the Catholic Bishops of Saskatchewan proclaiming May 22-29 as Catholic Education Week.
