Prince Albert contributed in a big way to this year’s McHappy Day on May 11.

Nationwide, over $5.7 million was raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities, with the Prince Albert restaurants raising over $11,000.

This was the 28th year the annual fundraising day has been run at McDonald’s across Canada.

“The results from McHappy Day are amazing, and we’re pleased to make a difference in the lives of wonderful families across our communities,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald’s Canada in a release.

“Thank you to our incredible guests, franchisees, restaurant teams, crew and supplier partners for participating in McHappy Day, and helping to make a truly meaningful impact for so many.”

Aside from buying their favourite meals and treats at McDonald’s, several community members volunteered their time in the drive-thru including paramedics with Parkland Ambulance and PIMS, the Prince Albert Raiders mascot.

While the fundraising drive is nationwide, all funds raised in Saskatchewan stay in the province.
