Melting snow may be helping COVID levels increase in P.A., North Battleford seeing drop

COVID levels are seeing a big increase in Prince Albert, however, there may be a specific reason why.

According to the University of Saskatchewan, which continues to study wastewater in the community to find out how prevalent the virus is, levels found over the past week are up nearly 290 per cent.

Researchers believe the melting snow may be why the jump is so big as daily flows at the water treatment plant are up 25 per cent over the past couple of weeks.

As for North Battleford and Saskatoon, who are also taking part in the study, they’re seeing a 60 and 15 per cent drop in levels respectively.
