Mihai Buruiana
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mihai “Bun” Buruiana on March 22, 2022 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Mihai leaves behind his wife, Roxana Nitescu, of 17 years. He will be sadly missed by his only daughter Miruna Buruiana and spouse Matt Phillips, special granddaughter Victoria and step grandson Dominik. Mihai also leaves behind his sister in Romania Elena Talos and is predeceased by his parents, Ovidiu Buruiana and Maria Buruiana.
Mihai was born in Romania and worked for the Romanian government as an economist. He met his first wife Victoria Valcu, Miruna’s mother, and married in 1979. The family immigrated to Canada in 1988. Being the devoted husband and father he was, Mihai worked several part time jobs to support his family before finding a career with the provincial government of Saskatchewan in the forestry department. Sadly in 1998, Mihai lost his wife Victoria, Miruna’s mother to illness in Prince Albert. Years later Mihai met and fell in love with Roxana Nitescu and married in 2005. Mihai retired from the provincial government in 2013 and enjoyed his days fishing and coffee outings with his close friends. He enjoyed photography, political conversations and had a quirky sense of humor. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and with the special bond he had with his granddaughter Victoria.
A Private Family Service will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel to celebrate his love, devotion and life amongst his family and loved ones. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
