Athabasca voters to elect new MLA
Feb 15, 2022 | 8:00 AM
Today represents a big day for voters in the Athabasca constituency as they are electing a new Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
The byelection was needed after Buckley Belanger stepped down last fall to run for the federal Liberal Party.
There are four candidates vying for the vacant seat: the NDP’s Georgina Jolibois; Jim Lemaigre for the Sask Party; Clint Arnason for the Buffalo Party; and Darwin Roy is running as an independent.
Advance polls were held last week and over 900 votes were cast between Monday and Friday.
