Prince Albert Winter Festival opens with action packed weekend

With the 2022 Prince Albert Winter Festival now underway in the community, the organizing committee have planned a slate of entertainment this weekend.

On Feb. 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. the Rock Show Experience organized by Dennis Adams is taking pace at the P.A. Exhibition Centre. Those hoping to see the show will need proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Tickets are $20 and you’ll also need your winter festival button to get in.

On Sunday, Feb. 13 the Youth Extravaganza show will be at the EA Rawlinson Centre at 7 p.m. It will be a full night of performances from some of Prince Albert’s most talented youth. Tickets cost $15 plus your winter festival button.

On Monday Feb. 14 there will be another show at the EA Rawlinson Centre. The Fiddle Show, which starts at 7 p.m. that evening will feature plenty of local fiddle players. Tickets cost $15 plus a winter festival button. Proof of vaccination is required for entry.

The virtual jigging contest is also underway until Feb. 17. Those who want to participate can post a short video to their Facebook page and the winners will be announced on Feb. 19.
