The Prince Albert Raiders completed a player swap with the Lethbridge Hurricanes on New Year’s Eve.

The Raiders get 2002-born defenceman Trevor Thurston and a sixth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. In exchange, the Raiders sent 2003-born winger Tyson Laventure and 2004-born defenceman Ross Stanley to Lethbridge.

In 24 games this season, Thurston has scored three goals and added four assists.

A day after the trade, the WHL announced the Hurricanes will pause all team activities as 14 members of the team are in COVID-19 protocol.
