Shellbrook woman finishes fourth at bodybuilding Nationals

Shellbrook’s Kyla Baun says just the experience of stepping on stage at a National bodybuilding competition was a win.

The 34-year-old finished fourth last weekend at the National Natural Pro Qualifier in Toronto. Baun told paNOW competing at Nationals was a dream come true.

“The quality of athletes on stage was extremely competitive as it was the top ranking winners from across the country. The event itself was huge with over 500 athletes in attendance.

Baun’s appearance on stage at Nationals comes on the heels of a first place finish at Regionals in Saskatoon last September.

“Coming from small town Saskatchewan, just stepping on stage at this level of competition was a win in itself for me,” she said.

Baun went on to explain the experience in Toronto was amazing and she was personally encouraged to see the hard work of all the athletes at the event.

“I truly love the sport and will continue to train with the hopes of bettering myself each time I walk on stage.”
