Three new COVID-19 deaths, 173 new cases, 212 recoveries

Three more people have died from COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, increasing the total to 866. There were 173 new cases also reported in the provincial government’s Saturday update.

Of the 173 new cases, 99 are unvaccinated, including 51 children aged 11 and under. In the Northern zones, 13 new cases were reported in the North West, with 12 in North Central, one in North East, four in Far North West and 13 in Far North East.

Hospitalizations have been on the decline in recent weeks, but they increased by two to 199.

Active cases in the province lowered by 51 to 1,745, after 212 recovered.

There are three new cases to report today in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority communities, two (67 per cent) were unvaccinated and one (33 per cent) was fully vaccinated. There are 90 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North West, 28; Far North East, 24; North Central, 31; and North East, seven; 6,737 cases (98 per cent) have recovered, and four people are hospitalized.

Athabasca Health Authority

The Athabasca Health Authority reported on Friday that they have not seen a new COVID-19 case in the past three weeks, and there continues to be no active cases. The vaccination rates in the area are nearing the 50 per cent threshold.
