Warrant issued for inmate who escaped Sask. healing lodge

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and Rosthern RCMP are looking for an inmate from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge, a minimum security federal institution west of Duck Lake.
Staff discovered Norman Cardinal, 34, was not accounted for during the inmate count Thursday night. A warrant for his arrest was issued immediately.
Cardinal is currently serving a sentence of 2 years, 2 months and 1 day for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (x2), Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Flight from Peace Officer, Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon/Imitation, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and other weapons related charges.
CSC is investigating the circumstances of the incident and is working with the police to locate the offender.
