Tillage is problematic on the prairies
LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Farming Smarter Lethbridge has developed a series of five articles to address the issue of soil erosion. It’s an issue that was brought to the forefront this year of drought and heat, after a winter where soil that was left bare and didn’t freeze under limited snow cover. What was left bare, blew away in relentless, prevailing wind.
The situation prompted four Southern Alberta municipalities to band together to shed light on soil erosion. They included the MD of Taber, the County of 40 Mile and Lethbridge County.
This is the fifth of the five segments on erosion (the other four have been published on this website).
