Tracy Lynn Peat
June 24, 1962 ~ August 26, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Tracy Peat announce her passing on August 26, 2021.
Tracy Lynn Peat was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to parents Alvin and Mary Anderson on June 24, 1962. Always an outgoing kid, Tracy found it easy to make friends and loved to have a good time. Growing up she had a special fondness for animals of all kinds, and throughout her childhood, had many dogs, fish, birds, reptiles and even a tarantula named ‘Bubbles’. She became a big sister to Allison when she was ten and took on that responsibility with great pride.
Tracy met her husband Wesley Peat in 1982 and they lived for many years in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, eventually getting married in 1984. In 1992 they welcomed their son Coleby to their family and settled in Prince Albert in 1997. Tracy was an amazing cook and spent many years in that industry making too many doughnuts and jars of antipasto to count. In the early 2000’s her focus changed and Tracy became a full time foster parent. Over the years Tracy and Wes welcomed many children into their family, including Kerrie, Mary and Ashton. As many will tell you, Tracy’s capacity for kindness and generosity was unsurpassed.
Tracy loved music of all kinds, she loved crafting and she loved driving her Jeep. She loved to make food and if you were in her kitchen, you never went hungry. Tracy loved to travel (especially to Las Vegas and Los Angeles), but her favourite place in the world was on her deck, in the sunshine with a big cup of coffee.
She fought a short, but brave battle with cancer and she will be tremendously missed.
Tracy is survived by her husband Wes Peat and son Coleby Peat of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; mother Mary Anderson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; sister Allison Thompson (husband Michael and nephews Max and Leo) of Vancouver, British Columbia; kids Kerrie, Mary and Ashton, of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved father Al.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff on the fourth floor of the Vic Hospital in Prince Albert for their tireless work and endless compassion.
A celebration of Tracy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 18, at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
