Charles MacDonald Galloway
1937 ~ 2021

With great sadness we announce that Charles MacDonald (Mac) Galloway of St. Louis, SK, beloved husband of Dorothy Galloway (Begrand), passed away peacefully in Birch Hills, SK, at the age of 84 years on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was the loving father of Sharon (Jacek) Nowaczek of Coquitlam, BC, and Gail Watson of Saskatoon, SK. He will be dearly missed by his granddaughters, Daria and Kalina Nowaczek and Coral Watson. He will also be remembered by his sister, Joan (Duncan) Morrison. He was predeceased by his only son, Darryl Galloway; his parents, Charles and Frances Galloway; his sister, Patricia; and his parents-in-law, Marcel and Marjorie Begrand. Mac was born in Prince Albert, SK, on April 21, 1937, and was raised on a fourth-generation family farm. After high school, he attended the University of Saskatchewan agriculture program, returning to the farm for spring seeding and harvest. He spent the following winter working at the Sherriff Gordon Fertilizer plant in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. He loved working with cattle, so he returned to his roots as the farm was always in his heart. Mac met the love of his life, Dorothy, and they married in 1963. Together they raised their family and expanded the family farm. He always supported the community through his interests in curling, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, 4-H, and their church. He loved fishing, water-skiing and camping at northern lakes with family and friends. As his family grew, he learned to ski at Lake Louise and enjoyed travelling to other ski hills in Canada and the U.S. He became a very proud grandad and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters at the farm and on family vacations. In 2018, Mac was happy to celebrate the legacy of the Galloway farm being a recipient of a Century Family Farm Award. The family requests that those wishing to place memorials may do so to Emmanuel Anglican Church Fund or Parkinson’s Superwalk. The Funeral Service for Mac will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 10, 2021, at St. Alban’s Cathedral – 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will take place in the Garden of Christus, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
