MELFORT, Sask. — Regina-based Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is offering to provide support to drought-stricken producers.
Senior vice-president of operations, Darren Howden said FCC is willing to be flexible on loans on a case by case basis.
“If it is a short term issue, what we are looking at is to defer the customers loan payments or we will also provide short term financing if that makes sense,” Howden said.
If it is a bigger issue that needs more work, they may look at restructuring to put producers back into a solid financial footing.
