Harry Antony Zelowsky
February 22, 1927 ~ July 15, 2021
It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, Harry Zelowsky on July 15, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
Dad was born on February 22, 1927 on the family farm at Claytonville, SK. His family moved to the Davis area in 1930 and Dad remained a resident of the area for the rest of his life. Dad grew up working on the family farm as did most young people of that era. He attended school at the one room school in Davis for his education graduating Grade 8. In his late teens and early twenties, Dad attended the Vocational Training School in Edmonton, AB for a mechanic. He quickly decided this wasn’t for him and returned to Prince Albert and the family farm. In 1954 Dad being the social fellow he was, attended a local dance and met the girl who was to steal his heart, Kathleen McSweeney. Mom and Dad were married in 1956 and built their first and only home which is still in use on the family farm today. In 1962, Dad became the proud father of twin boys David and Darrell. While the boys could be a bit of a handful, they were also Dad’s pride and joy. Dad will always be remembered for his mischievous smile, laughter, and sense of humour.
Harry is survived by his sons David (Susie) and their children Eryn (Mason and their children Nancy, Hunter and Keyden), Ryan, Tayte (Zach), Darrell (Maureen) and their children Rachel (Billy) Spence and Justin; brother Ray Zelowsky; and sister-in-law Betty Zelowsky.
Harry was predeceased by his wife Kathleen; parents Paul and Lena Zelowsky; brothers Orest and Mike; sister Phyllis Sansonie; and in-laws: Cornelius and Katherine McSweeney, Ivan Stubbs, Edna McLennan and Arsene (Pete) Samoila.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and sincere thanks to the 5th floor nursing staff, Dr. Halyk, Dr. Balingit, Parkland Ambulance, Victoria Hospital ER, Royal University Hospital CCU staff and the staff at Good Shepherd Villa.
