Klughart three-peats at Saskatchewan Mid-Amateurs
The only name to be etched on the Golf Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Men’s Championship since 2019 is Danny Klughart’s.
The ace from Prince Albert won his third straight Mid-Am’s on Thursday at the Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current. Klughart led throughout all three rounds and won with an 8-under-par score of 208.
“Obviously you try to defend your title, it feels pretty special to do it three times. I was very humbled to get the first one so to get three in a row feels pretty good,” Klughart told Clark Stork of Golf Saskatchewan.
Klughart’s victory in 2019 was extra special, as he won the Saskatchewan Amateurs and Mid-Am’s that year at the Saskatoon Golf and Curling Club. Klughart shot 6-under-par in the final day to climb up the rankings and force a playoff against Jehremy Ryde, to win both titles.
