The Spiritwood RCMP are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man after they found him deceased a day after he went missing.

According to a media release, on June 7 the man and a family member were out boating on Little Shell Lake and their boat flipped over. The family member made it to shore but lost sight of the man. The member walked through the bush that night to make it back to their campsite to call for help. He was reported missing the morning of June 8.

The Spiritwood and Blaine Lake RCMP, as well as Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services, searched for the man in the water and along the shoreline. They eventually discovered the body at approximately 9 a.m. on June 8 in the water and the next of kin was notified.
