It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Hall, age 97, on Sunday April 4, 2021.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Arthur Hall; her Mother and Father, Anna and William Katamay; and her brother-in-law, Earl Newberry.
She is survived by her loving sister, Anne Newberry; a loving brother, Nick Katamay; niece, Colleen (Larry) Sunderland; nephew and godson, Andy (Debbie) Riekert; a great niece and four great nephews; nine great-great nieces and nephews; and grandson Jeff and his two daughters.
As a young woman, Mary joined the Royal Canadian Airforce, 425 Squadron based out of Pat Bay, B.C. She then went to work at the P.A. Laundry & Dry Cleaners before moving to Kitimat with her husband, Arthur, where she worked at Shop Easy Grocery.
Retirement took her and Arthur, in 1973, back to Prince Albert for one year, and then on to Courtney, Nanaimo, and then her final residence in North Vancouver.
The family would like to thank the staff at Berkley Care Centre in North Vancouver for the excellent care she was given.
We are left with so many wonderful memories of our feisty, red-headed sister and aunt; she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Mary will rest next to her husband, Arthur T Hall in Nanaimo, BC.
Mary was a huge lover of animals, especially cats. If desired, please make a donation to the SPCA or your favourite charity in her name.
