1970 – 2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Todd Russell Ahenakew, late of Ahtahkakoop First Nation, announce his passing on December 10, 2020, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 50 years.
Todd was born on August 18, 1970, in Prince Albert to Russell and Marjorie Ahenakew. Todd went to school at Ahtahkakoop First Nation then Queen Mary School in Prince Albert, SK.
He loved his sports, was especially competitive at golf. Another of Todd’s passions was hunting, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandkids, and all the family gatherings. Todd worked at Prince Albert Grand Council Childcare and spent some time working in security at the Northern Lights Casino.
Todd will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Beverly Masuskapoe; his sons, Tristen, Robert, Mathew, Shane, Jordan, Tyrese; his daughters, Alexandria, Shaylenne, Shontia; a special granddaughter Talaina; a special grandson Rylan; his father Russell Ahenakew; his brothers Jason Ahenakew; Blair (Joey) Ahenakew; his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Todd was predeceased by his mother Marjorie Ahenakew (nee: Bighead); his infant sister; his maternal grandparents, Howard & Marjorie Bighead; his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Edith Ahenakew.
There will be a Wake Service held at Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall commencing Sunday, December 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. Covid 19 Restrictions will be in place at the Band Hall, allowing for only 30 family and friends at one time in the hall during the wake. The Funeral Service due to Covid 19 Restrictions will be a private family service held on Monday, December 14, 2020.
