Unique voting day underway in Prince Albert
It remains to be seen how the record number of people who cast their ballots in advance polls and by mail-in ballot will affect today’s voter turnout.
Nearly 30 per cent of registered voters in the province have voted in advance polls or requested a mail-in voting package.
“That’s a lot already that have voted,” Tim Kydd, senior director of outreach and communications at Elections Saskatchewan told paNOW. “But today’s a long day. It’s 11 hours that the polls are open. We generally see it busy at noon hour, around supper time and after supper, so we’ll see how the day goes.”
As of noon today, Kydd said some polling stations in the province were busy, while others reported being very slow.
