Nominations open for 2021 BOB Awards

Oct 12, 2020 | 10:00 AM

Nominations are open for just over two more weeks for the paNOW BOB Awards, one of the most popular annual community celebrations in Prince Albert and area.

While there won’t be the usual glitzy red carpet event in January 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards and acknowledgement of excellence across businesses, community groups and events are still very important, according to sales manager for paNOW Marlene Stene.

“It’s an opportunity for businesses and groups to nominate others as well as themselves to become the Best of the Best (BOB) for 2021,” Stene said.

And the idea is to nominate, a lot.

“Don’t stop at just one nomination,” she explained. “Do as many as you can as that will give you a better chance of moving forward in the voting process.”

There are numerous categories to look through on the nomination pages which you can find by clicking on the BOBS Nomination link on the main page of paNOW. Or you can click here.

Many businesses across the city covet their special BOB Award certificates and have supported the annual celebration night at the Art Hauser Centre in their hundreds. Sadly, that can’t happen this January due to the pandemic but Stene said they will still make the award the special honour it is.

“We’re working on a couple of surprise ideas for the recipients and hopefully we’ll have something that is fun and a nice replacement for this year’s winners,” she said.

Nominations are open until Oct.25.
