Raymond Laliberte

Raymond John Laliberte went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the age of 35 years of age. He passed away suddenly and will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
Raymond was born to Ada Laliberte and Cecil Oponechow on Tuesday, February 19, 1985, in Saskatoon, SK. He was born when his sister Olivia died of a car accident. He spent the first few years of his life in Saskatoon, and then moved to Melfort with his parents. Ray attended school in Melfort. He became active in hockey and football which he excelled in. He had lifelong friends in Melfort, namely the Turner boys. He then moved to Cumberland House for a couple of years. Later on he decided to go back to school and earned his grade 12 diploma through Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) and then proceeded to undertake Truck Driver Training through Saskatchewan Institute of Advanced Sciences and Technologies (SIAST). He was proud of his achievements! He then took few jobs in Prince Albert and tried his hand at Taxi Driving! He also worked for the Prince Albert Grand Council.
Raymond and his dad had a very strong bond, they were best friends and always looked out for each other. He also loved spending time with his siblings and other family members, relatives and his friends.
Raymond is survived by his loving family, his father, Cecil Opoonechaw; his great-aunt, Martha Opoonechaw; his mother, Ada Laliberte; his brothers, Conway (Kyla, Josh); Angus, Eddy (Danielle, Mikayla, Janelle), Tyson (Blair, Tanner, Tanis), Norman, Fred; his sister, Delia (Frankie, Alayna, Courtney, Jerome, Evie); his aunts, Lillian Thomas (her children), Jean Fiddler, Patricia Koller (John), Barb Sauve (Ernie), Opoonechaw aunts, Kathleen; his uncles, William Opoonechaw, Riley Burns, Morris, Thomas, Rod, Emile, Russell; his niece, Sheila Kay; numerous cousins, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Norman and Hilda Opoonechaw, John and Nancy Thomas; his sister, Olivia Laliberte, Cecilia Kay; his nephew, Elliot Jones Laliberte; his aunts, Evelyn Burns, Margaret Opoonechaw, Mabel Dorion; his uncles, Fred Opoonechaw, Opoonechaw uncles, Angus and Roderick Thomas; his cousins, Robert and Maureen Thomas, Jonathon Thomas, Preston Cook, Shellie McKenzie, Reggie Burns, Pearl Opoonechaw, Jerry Napope, Wyatt Sanderson, Lyle Opoonechaw; his Godparents, Cyril and Dorothy Roy.
