It is with great sadness that the family of Gerard ‘Gerry’ Pelletier, announce his passing at the age of 88 years old on September 24, 2020 in Prince Albert, SK.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley (nee Alain) Pelletier, his children Robin Pelletier and Shamilla Ramnawaj, Leanne (Ted) Toporowski, Taunia Arthur and Sean (Brittney) Sawatzky and 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Honey, Teya, Nolan and Hattie. His siblings Armande (Ole) Kilden, Freddie (Sheila) Pelletier, and Sally (Brian) Bohmann; sister in law Vi Pelletier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; Ludger and Marie, sister Lou Andrews, brothers Ben Pelletier and Harvey (Donna) Pelletier.
Gerry was born in Duck Lake, SK on April 23, 1932 and was the oldest of 7 siblings. He married Shirley on October 9th, 1965. Gerry was a heavy equipment operator for 33 years and in his retirement, he took great pride in his hobby of woodworking. Gerry was a lover of music and was an avid fiddle player in his younger years and could often be found travelling to listen to many local musicians (including many family musicians). Gerry was always eager to have a game of cribbage with anyone who was willing to play or family game of Kaiser. He also enjoyed watching hockey, often listening to a game in French on the radio while watching a game in English on the television.
Even though his last few years were tough, he kept his sense of humor right until the end.
