David (Dave) Russell Skinner
September 15, 1963 – June 15, 2020
It is with a very heavy heart, we announce the passing of Dave Skinner of Edmonton, Alberta, at 56 years of age.
Dave will be thoroughly missed and forever live on in the hearts of his wife, Wendy Skinner, their two sons: Reid and Maxwell Skinner, and the family schnauzer, Beau.
Dave is also survived by his mother, Betty Skinner of Regina, Saskatchewan, two sisters: Linda (Dave) Sabo of Calgary, Alberta and Wendy Skinner of Kaslo, British Columbia, numerous nieces and nephews, especially Tyler Norsworthy of St. Albert, Alberta, as well as other family and many close and wonderful friends, particularly Larry Kalinowski of Warman, Saskatchewan and Barry Wouters of Toronto, Ontario. Dave was predeceased by his father, Russell Skinner and a sister, Deb Jones.
Dave had numerous accomplishments in his 38 years in the insurance industry; mainly with Saskatchewan Government Insurance and SCM Insurance Services. Dave helped many people in the business, was widely respected, and very well liked.
Dave enjoyed spending time with our family and friends, was always quick with his wit and sarcasm, and enjoyed a good laugh. He loved baseball and golf, was a fan of the Montreal Canadiens first; and then, the Edmonton Oilers. And true to his roots; he was a big Saskatchewan Roughrider fan. Lately, a huge passion was his motorcycle and he thoroughly enjoyed riding with his buddies.
Due to Covid-19 a service will not be held at this time.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration will be held at a later date.
Those wanting to make donations can do so to JDRF Edmonton or to the gofundme for Maxwell’s Education.
Many thanks to all those friends, neighbors and business relationships with your stories of Dave and outpouring of love; it is overwhelming and greatly appreciated!
