CHANTAL SMITH

January 7, 1990 ~ July 7, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Chantal Smith announce her passing on July 7, 2020 in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 30 years.

Chantal was born January 7, 1990 in Flin Flon, MB to Shirley Ann Ruckle and Robert Bear. She attended the Ruth Betts School in Flin Flon where she took figure skating and received a medal for it. She then moved to Prince Albert and attended King George Elementary School where she met her future husband. She graduated from P.A.C.I. in Prince Albert and went on to receive her diploma in Early Childhood Development. She was employed at Family Futures and John Diefenbaker School and was also on the Parent/Teachers group at John Diefenbaker School and helped raise funds towards a playground for the school.

Chantal liked drawing, growing flowers, and playing games with friends and family. She enjoyed basketball and soccer, both playing and watching. She was very humorous and enjoyed fun times with friends and family.

Chantal is survived by her husband Shawn Smith and son Dontauy Smith; parents Shirley Ruckle and Robert Bear; sisters Lorelei and Bridget Starblanket; grandparents Bob and Amy Ruckle; aunts and uncles Claudia and Richard Ruckle and Larry and Cheryl Ruckle; cousins Luke & Rodney Ruckle and Dominic & Damian Ruckle; she will be lovingly remembered by in-laws Gilbert and Hilda Bear; siblings Trish, Robyn and Travis Smith, Morgan Bear, Brandi-Mae Smith, Jaedon Smith, and many more nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends including Wendy Merasty and Cora-Lee White; and her cat Nala.
